Jessica was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. She later went on to graduate with a Bachelor's in Psychology from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN and with a masters in counseling psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.

Jessica grew up writing short stories and poetry that later blossomed into a love for spoken word.  Together with her love of writing and passion for mental health care she created the children's book character, Tia.
